High-Speed Thrills and cutthroat racing drive crowds all over the universe wild!

What is the story behind F-Zero?
The F-Zero Grand Prix dates back to the 26th century. The spectacular race features the most technologically advanced machines runningthrough several circuts of face-paced hovering action. F-Zero is known as the fastest and most extreme race in the known universe, and it's sponsored by the wealthy elite who organized the F-Zero Excecution Project. The winner recives big prize money and a great deal of prestige... but many pilots have been lost persuing the prize.

What is F-Zero exactly?
-F-ZERO is a high-speed racing game, created by Nintendo for each of its platforms. (Sans NES)
It debuted in 1991, as a launch title for the SNES, and was well-recived.
In 1998, F-ZERO X debuted on the Nintendo 64, to high praise. Expanding upon the original 4 racers, there was now a large variety of character to choose from, (each with his/her own personality), and more tracks as well. A year or so later, an expansion kit was released only in Japan for the 64 Disk Drive.
When the Game Boy Advance arrived, there was an F-Zero game for it: F-Zero Maximum Velocity. While well-recived, most hardcore fans were dissapointed by the dissaperances of Falcon, Goroh, Stewart and Pico; who had been replaced by Megan, Mickey, Jane and Nichi.
2003 heralded the arrival of three F-Zero Games: F-Zero GX, F-Zero AX and F-Zero: GP Legend for the GBA.
Also, a new anime series launched in Japan in October of 2003; 'called Falcon Densetsu'/Falcon Tradition. While not exactly having Captain Falcon as the main star, it still has some familiar faces, including new ones as well.
F-Zero is now in a hiatus stage; due to the cartoon's cancellation here and poor sales of the GBA game. Because of this, 'F-Zero Climax' will not be released in the US, which is quite a shame.
However, there is hope. With the arrival of the Nintendo Wi-Fi service for the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Revolution, there has been rumors of a possible F-Zero title for the DS. We won't know anything for sure until E3 in May this year, but let's keep our fingers crossed!

1/3 Update, Read this!
A new year, 2 new memebers and a whole host of possibilities for our beloved franchise! With the release of Mario Kart DS, more people than ever have been requesting a F-Zero title for the DS. (I should know, I see at least one every other day at NSider)
Considering that Nintendo wants to push the concept of Wi-Fi gaming with the platform, one can only hope they won't exclude F-Zero, just because of a dud game and cartoon series. We won't know anything for sure, but let's keep our fingers crossed come May!
Also, would anyone be interested in a contest or submitting artwork? ;_;

What do I have to do to Join?
It's simple, really! Just follow these quick rules and you'll be on your way to being an official F-Zero racer. (Kind of, heh)

Send a Note to the club with the topic 'F-Zero Excecution Project'

State your DEVIANTART USER NAME, FAVORITE F-ZERO CAR, and FAVORITE F-ZERO GAME. We are non-discriminatory, so if you prefer, say.. 'Maximum Velocity' to SNES F-Zero or X to GX, it's okay.

It helps if you have at least ONE F-Zero related fanart, but it's not required.

Place the Club Icon somewhere in your journal. Type in : i c o n f - z e r o r a c e r s : (NO SPACES!) and you'll get something like this:

If you wish (but this isn't required), you can put a text link in your signature. Mind you, this is completley optional, but hey!
If you have any questions, send a note to the club. I'll be more than happy to help.
How do I submit in Artwork?
Simple. Just
send a note to the club with links to your F-Zero fanart, and ask if they can be uploaded. You *will* be given full credit, so don't worry about that.
